Hardwar- Rishikesh, 2 Days Journy

Hi all, I am here after a long day. In between there is lots of changes, I am transferred to New Delhi. Last May I was came to Delhi, last 4 months was good experience in Delhi.

There are a lots of thing to see.
Last June I went to Vaishno Deevi, Katra, Jammu.
Early this month I also went back to my home in Kolkata.

Hardwar Jatra
Catch Delhi-Deradhun Janasatabdi (2055), which depart at 15.25 from New Delhi Station and reach to Hardwar near about 20.00 p.m. Fare is Rs. 107. There are lots of bus available for Hardwar from ISBT, fare is Rs 116. It is taking around 6 to 6.30 Hrs. But best and comfortable journey will be in Train.
While reach Hardwar St. come out from the St. there are will a lots of riskhawalla (Cyclerishka) who will lead to good hotels or Dharmashalla, they will take Rs 10 to 20 depending upon where do you like to stay. But there are good line of Dharmashalla nearby to the station. Just walk about 200 m to wards the Har-ki-pouri there is a 3 way connector and there is a Shiv Statue, just right hand side of the Statue there is lane where there is a plenty of Dharmashallas, those are preferably for Guajarati; there are also good place for food, and Gujarati thalies are available here of cost Rs 40. For Bengali there are good dharmashallas on Vishnu Ghat, Birla Ghat which are to wards the Har-ki-pouri, and those are on the bank of Ganga. There are good Bengali hotels for food, viz Dada Boudir Hotel, Mashir Hotels, ect. Near Vishnu Ghat, Meal rate is Rs 35. Please remember if someone would like to check in Dharmashalla, so better reach before 10.00 p.m. because most of the Dharmashallas close around 10.00 p.m.

Karnatak Dharmashala Bhola Giri Road, Hardwar-249 401 10334-227235, 9368550281, 935809006
Raj Hotel Vishnu Ghat, Hardwar 01334-221775
Dadu Tour & Travels 01334-266436, 260, 9837336499
Khanduja Bhawan, Rs 200 Shiv Murti Gali, Haridwar-249401 9897002986, RS Bhatt-9758994891
Rajasthan Guest House, Kali Bari, Rs. 350 Vishnu Ghat, Hardwar 01334-227639, 266197
Hotel Aarti 1334-226365, 227456, 325151

If check in a Hotel around 9.30, then after get fresh come to Har-ki-pouri, you can take a rishka, but ask about the rate, I suggest to go by walking, because the distance is only about 1 k.m. from the station chowk. Or if some body knows the roads beside the river bank then it will be fine and enjoyable. For taking the root ask some body to show you the Birla Ghat, then you can easily reach to har-ki-pouri.

Nest day start your day at 6.00 a.m. First rush to Ganga for a holt bath. Now the water current is too heavy, so recommended to take bath at Har-ki-pouri Gath, because there are chains made of iron to protect you against the water current, even the depth is not too much for getting a holy dip, this arrangement was made artificially for the pilgrim. There is a small dam to separate water and feed the maximum of water through the canel to the har-ki-pouri Ghat. Rest is bypass to another root, which you can see while go to Rishikesh and Chandimata Mandir.

After taking bath, take breakfast and then go for the Mansadevi Temple. Mansadevi Temple is near to the Har-ki-pouri. It is the way to wards the ghat. There is a way on the left hand side while going towards the Ghat. After walking some 150 M there will be a counter of Ropeway. Rs 48 for to & fro charges to Mansadevi Temple. It will take 45 to 60 min for a healthy man to climb on the Mansadevi temple. There you find others temple also, and yes the pictorial image from the top is very nice. There you can see the other part of the Ganga which is drove away from the main Har-ki-pouri Ghat.

After climb down from the Mansadevi Temple, go to Birla Ghat, and cross the bridge.
There find a lots of share auto/ tempo for the Chandi Devi Temple. They usually take Rs. 10 to reach you there. If some one wants to reach there by walking, then before the ropeway terminal there is a path towards the mandir.
The ropeway charge here is Rs. 80, it will be a nice journey for about 5 mins while on the rope car. There are beautiful green hills nearby and the ropeway will move through them.
This will take around 1.5 hrs. After that again come back to Hardwar and get your lunch in a good hotel which is mentioned earlier. Then take some rest and prepare for Rishikesh.
There are plenty of bus and tempo for Rishikesh, it is 25 k.m. away from Hardwar to wards Rrudra Prayag. Reach there by 2-3 p.m. The bus fair is Rs 25. and the time required is 1 hrs. After reaching there try to see the main ghats and then rush for the Ramjulla by auto. They charge Rs. 5. reaching Ramjulla you will get lots of shop, see those and walk ahead. There Shiva Nanda Ashram famous for mediation teaching. If get time then you can also see it. Then cross the Ganga by walking on the Ramjulla and reach the opposite side of the gnaga. On the opposite side there are one office cum dharmashalla cum shop of Gita Press, Gorokhpur. The famous Chottiwalla’s restaurant is situated near the bank. If wish get your food over there, and walk ahead to wards the Laxmanjulla. After walking some time towards the upstairs/ uphill find an auto stand for Laxmanjulla. The distance is 2 km only. They charge Rs. 5. From Laxmanjulla the Ganga has come down to plane land. Before this it flows form the mountains and hills. The rafting, rock climbing camps used to organize here because of the current in the Ganga.
See the Ganga there and then cross the river. After walking some a distance there are auto stand for Hardwar. Share auto takes Rs. 35 to reach you in Har-ki-pouri. By 8. p.m you can reach to Hardwar. Then walk around in the Har-ki-pouri, and after take your dinner. After taking some rest then come back to Hardwar Bus Stand, for Delhi there are plenty of buses used to leave every after ½ hrs. But please remember try to reach before 11.30 p.m.

Darshan of Pramukh Swami Maharaj

26.04.09

I am not a true follower of BAPS, but respect their true devotion, ritual practice to wards GOD, i.e Bhagwan Swaminarayan, his Disciples, Sadhus, Pramukh Swami Maharaj etc.

Past few months I used to attain Ravisabha in Dadar. As the discourses are in Gujarati so I am not able to get the entire test from the nectar, but still went there for deity and sadhu darshan. I had a desire to have a darshan of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

Last December 2008 Pramukh Swami Maharaj had to come in Mumbai, but due to terrorist attack in Mumbai it was postponed. I hurt very much because I don’t know after that when ever I can able to get his holy darshan.

Day by day attaining Ravisabha get less and for last 3 months I did not attain a single one.

This 2nd May I am going to Delhi, because I am posted to Delhi then Punjab by my office. So I though I should attain the Ravisabha for last time because I don’t know what will be the situation in Delhi.

Last Sunday, 26th April i.e yesterday, I went to Mumbai for roaming here n there and around 7.00 p.m. came to Swaminarayan temple for attaining Ravisabah, it was just a casual approach. Before that I did not know any thing about the visit of Pramukh Swami Maharaj in Mumbai.

I attained the Ravisabah and there I get the holy darshan of Pramukh Swami Maharaj along with deity and his holy Sadhus.

Rely at last my desire get fulfill in the last moment.

Jai Swaminarayan.

Chrinjib Maharaj is in Mumbai

06.03.09,
Today I meet Chrinjib Maharaj, he is in Mumbai.
He is a monk in Ramakrishna Order.
I know him since 1999 when I study in RKMSTH, Belgharia. That time Mj. was the Secretary in our college. Maharaj has achieved good knowledge upon Swamiji and Thkur, Maa and others also. He uses to take regular VSC (Vivekananda Study Circle) classes, lectures, youth meet, and motivational speech.
Today Ramu send me a SMS that Maharaj has come in Mumbai, if I wish I can meet him. So I was rush to Siddhi Vinayak Temple to meet CM as well as Siddhi Vinayak also.
While coming back to Khar Rd. Ramu, Ankan, Joygpoal da, Anish bhai all were there.
Anishbhai is a very good devotee, and i used to see him almost every time i visited Khar Raod, RKM. Kuber Maharj also joined with us for dinner.

We used to call Chrinjib Maharaj as 'CM', and he calls us 'Haridas'. He carries good personality, knowledge, good spoken power. Even some time a feeling of fear comes in to my heart when I see him. Actually once, while we were in relief camp in Nadia in the year 2002 he shout tremendously up on me near the crowd for some ignorance to ward some job, after that I get some panic in my heart while he is near to me. He always advices me to do regular Japa and study Swamiji, specially letters , which I do not or do seldom. For that he shout every time.
We the chella of Biswarup Maharaj discuss; that, CM has got a high-fi chella base.

To day while in car we discussed what few basic principal should obey by a person who at least loves Sri Ramakrishna. As a 6th and last member of the team we add truthfulness but it should not hart others. We had a little humors also. I have noticed maximum Sadhus of RKM are very humorous. If a dead sole come near to Subrata Maharaj na, and listen few humors/ joke he will also starts laughing. Subrata Mj is a great sadhu.
While come back, Joygopal da dropped me in Sion, then I came to Kanjurmarg and come back to my kholi at 12.45 a.m.

Trip to Trimbakeshwar

Trimbakeshwar is the one of the Jyotirlinga of Load Shiva, It is situated 30 k.m. away from Nashik, Maharashtra.
Last week my parents came from Kolkata to stay with me for 2 weeks, so choose this occasion to visit to Trimbakeshwar with my parents.
There is Tapovan Express which starts from CST at 6.10 a.m daily and reach at Nashik road around 9.45 to 10 a.m. (Fair Rs. 55). There is plenty of auto service to reach Central Bus Stand, you have to pay Rs. 70-80. After reach to CBS, take some food, near bus stand there is a restaurant Raj Mahal, where you get good food.
After taking little tiffin we get into ST bus for Trimbakeshwar, it will take 1-1.15 hr to reach (Fair Rs 20, in Maruti van Rs. 25).
Now for having darshan we had to stand in a queue for around 3-3.30 hr. Even Mondays and in festivals the waiting time may be more long. Do your puja in the temple and come out, then take some light lunch in near by hotels. Remember all veg food will be served.
The river Godavary is called Ganga of South, the origin of the river Godavari is in Trimbakeshwar. Just back of the temple there is a hill called Bamhagiri where the origin of Godavary lies. In 2006 we climb to that hill with my friends in Rishabh and we did a lot of fun, that was rainy seasons and the ambiance was beautiful, the whole hill was full of green and there was lost of fountain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trimbakeshwar

We came back from there in Nashik and took our lunch. After that we went to visit panchavati, where load Rama, Sita Mata, and Lakshman stayed during there vanavas. This place is in the bank of river Godavari.
From CBS auto will ask 30-40 Rs, but if you burgain you can go in 20. There you can take your holy bath, and then go to panchavati. The name panchivati came, because there were 5 banyan(bote) tree, where Load Rama used to stay, even those trees are alive still today. Near to that there is Sita Cave, in side there is idol of Rama, Sita, Laxmana. The Laxman rekha is over there only.
Kala Ram Mandir is a famous spot there, you should see this.
Apart from there is Someshwar a shiva temple little away from there, but due to less time we did not make it in this trip. Although I have seen it before. You should also see the factory of Sula wine, which is the 3rd largest wine producer in the world.

For coming back to Mumbai there are plenty of way to come.

1. Volvo-non AC-Rs 250-200, Volvo AC-Rs. 350
2. ST Buses
3. Cool Cab-upto Dadar, Rs. 350-400
4. Maruti Van-upto Kasara, Rs. 60-80
5. Mail from Nashik Rd. to Mumbai, but after 6 p.m. the next train is around 11 p.m.

We get in to the ST Bus up to Kasara (Rs. 60), and then took local upto Kurla (Rs. 21). Please check the time table before you schedule to Nashik, for economic travel.
After this journey we reach Mumbai at around 10.30 p.m.

Akshardham, Gandhinagar

Next day I started my journey for Amdabad. I have my friend "Pankaj Modi", we were working in Rishabh, i left, but still he is working there. Modhibhai is very much cooperative fellow.
I told him that i am coming to Amdabad to visit Akshardham. He told one of his colleague to attain me and take me in Gandhinagar.
In Amdabad i visited Sabarmati Ashram, where Mahatma Gandhi Stayed, It was very nice to see.
I was little short of time, other wise there is plenty of things to see in Sabarmati Ashram.
After visit it i went to Akshardham by two wheeler.
Akshardham temple is in Gandhinagar and it is very nice. The screen play must see. The security is tight.
Just beside the Akshardham temple there is a big Jain Temple is situated, it was also nice, although it is yet to complete.

After visit from Gandhinagar the next destination was Amdabad. The buitiful thing of the Amdabad is, it is very nice city. I loved to be in Amdabad if i get chance.
We enjoyed the Gujarati Thali over there. After that i came back to Mumbai very next day. The Non AC Bus tickit from Amdabad to Mumbai is Rs. 350.

I lost my heart at "Dwarka"

Last week I was in Gujarat. I made a plan early January, because i want to utilize the vacation 24,25,26.
Gujarat is my always favorite place. I like the people, language, food.
I planed for Somnath, Dwarka, Amdabad and Akshardham.

I had a wish to make a darshan at Akhsardham, because the follower of Swaminarayan believe Akhsardham as holy place and must visit. All though i am not a true disciple of Swaminarayan, but to a sum extent i follow them. The laws of the sampraday are very good. Although i think they are the Hindu counter part of Jains, if you see the rules you can come to know.

The time is not going well, because of recession, so to keep my mind cool i made the visit.
(The great loss during this visit that i missed to attain IITB Tech fest 2009)

One of my friend Arnab stays in Rajkot, so i made this my base point.

Started journey on 23.01.09 from Mumbai. There are lots of bus service available for Rajkot, even today bus ticket can be booked through net. Non AC Semi Sleeper is 500/-. Took the bus around 10:30 p.m. and reached at around 12 noon at Rajkot.
I stay in Rajkot and visited Ramakrishna Mission in Rajkor, attained the prayer over there, i wished to visit the Swaminarayan Temple but i could not because of time.

Next day Arnab and i went for Somnath Darshan.
City ST Bus stand-catch bus for Veraval (Rs. 80-90 in Govt. ST bus), it took around 5 hours to reach to Veraval. The journey was good, in between the way we got few places like Junagadh, it is the capital of Junagadh dist. Near Junagad there is GIR Sanctuary-lion sanctuary. We found few Swaminarayan Temple on the way. If some body wishes to visit Palital (the most sacred temple of Jain) then he can take rest in Junagadh and make a plan to Palitana. Palitana is one my target palace to visit.
We went in Somnath temple around 1-30 p.m. From ST bus stand there is plenty of riskaws for Somnath temple.
Somnath Temple: It is said the major Jotirlinga out of 12 Jotirlinga of bagavan Siva. The temple was attacked by Md. Gazani 17 times, and destroyed. But with the help of Sardar Ballavbhai patel others it was given a new shape which we enjoyed. "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somnath"
This is the end of India, because it is situated on the beach of Arabian Ses.

We came back from there after passing 1 hour, and coming back to Rajkot again. we tried to go to Porbandar and stay a night there and if get time then will see the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. But we did not get any bus to go Porbandar so come back to Rajkot.

Dwarka: Next day I had to travel alone, because Arnad was scheduled to busy some another job. From Rajkot there is very few buses which directly go to Dwarka, better 1st go to Jamnagar, and then Dwarka if you do not get any direct bus. So try to go early in the morning. Better, plan to stay at Dwarka for 1 day.
The Bus fare from Rajkot to Jamnagar is Rs. 55. Time taken 2.30 hrs. Took breakfast in Jamnagar. Gathiya, papri, Khaman, Puri Sak, Sev tomato are the most fast food in all over Saurastra. The language is called Gathiyawari, but understandable.
While going to Dwarka I had a view of Relience Jamnagar Refinery, in night it looks like a big city like Mumbai, even Esser is also big.
From jamnagar to Dwarka it took around 3 hrs. to reach there. Bus fair Rs 85.

Dwarka was extra ordinary. while "Arati" was going on i relay felt that i lost my heart at there. I can not write the feelings i had.
There is another dwarka called Vet Dwarka. It is 30 K.M. away from Dwarka to wards Okha. which is the last point of India, even the aerial distance of Pakistan is not so fer from that place.
It is an i-land, and there are lunches for go to that place. I enjoyed the journey to Vet Dwarka, but the exciting moment was, while crossing the sea by the boot we got plenty of sea birds fly with us and took food like biscuit, snacks, bread from our hand. This was relay wonderful.
On the way you get Tata Chemicals where they manufacture Tata Salt, the name of the place is Mithapur.
I first visited Vet Dwarka, then Dwarka and then come back to Rajkot.
There is an another place called Kaleshwar Shiva, which is also a Jotilinga situated 21 k.m. away from Dwarka, but due to short time i did not make it.
There are few buses from Dwarka for returning to Rajkot or Amdabad.
7.30 p.m. for Amdabad and 9.30 p.m. for Rajkot. Please remember after that there will be no buses for returning to the Rajkot, because the last ST bus is for Jamnagar around 5.00 p.m and for Rajkot it is 4.30 p.m. During this visit I meet one DVC engineer.
After darshan of Srinath Ji, I came back to Rajkot around 2.30 a.m.

Suman was my best friend in City College, we passed 3 years in the college, he stayed at Baguihati.

The atmosphere of Bangalore is good, weather is cool than Mumbai.
City roads are not starched like mumbai, but still i liked it.
I visited ISKCON over there, it is fab, and so big, much more bigger that our ISKCON in Juhu.
